Resident Satisfaction with Simulation Based Skills Training via a Virtual Platform for Difficult News Communication in Obstetrics and Gynecology

How virtual GYN H&Ps may have educational benefits versus in-person H&Ps while enhancing telehealth preparation.

Purpose: Given the educational restrictions during the COVID-19 pandemic and expansion of telehealth, this study aims to investigate the educational benefits of MS3 participating in a graded, in-person GYN H&P (IN-P) versus a virtual GYN H&P (VIRT).

Stay Home, Stay Connected: Virtual Prenatal Support Groups Improve Interprofessional Competencies

Purpose: The American Medical Association identifies Interprofessional Collaboration as a core competency. During the COVID-19 pandemic, novel approaches were necessary to provide patient-facing, interprofessional contact for students while maintaining social distancing. We describe early findings from Stay Home, Stay Connected (SHSC): an interprofessional service-learning program connecting students and pregnant patients.

Virtual OSCE as Student Assessment Tool

Purpose: To use virtual patient simulation encounter to evaluate students’ clinical abilities and provide meaningful feedback.  Clinical abilities included taking a history, choice of physical exam, interview skills, and development of management plans for common OB/GYN complaints.
