Adapting Education in Response to COVID-19: A Novel Telehealth Education Curriculum (TEC) for the Ob/Gyn Clerkship

Purpose: We created, implemented, and evaluated a novel Telehealth Education Curriculum (TEC) for the Ob/Gyn rotation at New York Medical College during COVID-19. The TEC included supervised telehealth patient encounters via video conference and a virtual Objective Structured Clinical Encounter (vOSCE) designed to simulate a telehealth encounter.

A New Tool for Guided Transition from Medical School to Residency: PGY0 School

Purpose: This project tested a novel voluntary virtual curriculum for incoming interns to: 1) introduce learning framework and resources of residency, 2) review core anatomy and physiology concepts, 3) review high-yield “day-one” concepts, and 4) provide friendly forum for cohort development.

Virtual OSCE as Student Assessment Tool

Purpose: To use virtual patient simulation encounter to evaluate students’ clinical abilities and provide meaningful feedback.  Clinical abilities included taking a history, choice of physical exam, interview skills, and development of management plans for common OB/GYN complaints.
