Objective/ Background: Innovation for UME-GME transition starts with 4th year sub-Internships. Milestone Level 1 curriculum is not new, but we have illuminated opportunities for fruitful sub-I rotations that promote growth and leadership for rising OBGYN interns. These electives provide increased engagement with learners and extra hands-on experiences. Rotations are set to uniquely shape experiences to an individual 4th year student’s wants and needs (types of patients, low-fidelity simulations, case presentations, previously noted areas for improvement). While preparing these rising OBGYN interns, faculty and current residents can better assess candidate’s readiness and fit for program match through detailed evaluations focused on core competencies.
Methods: Major Discussion Points: -Designing 4th year sub-I experiences that are unique to student\'s wants and needs -Options for educational experiences for the 4th year sub-I
Results: -Evaluations to better assess competencies -Evaluations to assess readiness for intern year -Evaluations to assess candidate\'s fit for your program from both residents and faculty perspectives
Conclusion/ Discussion: DEI: These multifaceted experiences will allow a more unique approach, which can help to eliminate disparities in the learning environment by focusing on the student as an individual and not just fitting them into a rigid rotational curriculum. Students are given the opportunity to have a more personalized educational experience.
