Objective/ Background: Cardiac arrest during pregnancy is a rare, but challenging clinical scenario. A significant proportion of maternal cardiac arrests (MCA) are due to reversible etiology. Therefore, timely and quality resuscitation of pregnant patients in cardiac arrest is essential. Although most features of resuscitation in pregnancy are similar to standard adult resuscitation, several aspects are considerably different and are not addressed in BLS/ACLS courses. This project highlights important factors regarding MCA resuscitation including: risk stratification, etiologies, pre-event planning, management of unstable pregnant patients, BLS/ACLS in pregnancy, point-of-care instruments, and peri-mortem cesarean delivery through an MCA simulation.
