Objective/ Background: As students with disabilities enter the healthcare workforce in greater numbers, clerkship directors will need to understand the importance of accommodation and how to address an increasingly wide span of accommodations.
Methods: Review of definitions pertinent to medical students with disabilities Participant-led discussion of areas where disability and accommodation may arise in the Ob/Gyn clerkship Example cases of student accommodations on the clerkship
Results: This workshop will attempt to equip educators with tools for optimizing inclusion of students with disabilities on the Ob/Gyn clerkship.
Conclusion/ Discussion: Inclusion of students with disabilities in the Ob/Gyn clerkship is an ongoing, ever-changing landscape. Tools exist to include students with disabilities in meaningful ways, but changes within the administration of the clerkship can also help students with disabilities access learning about obstetrics & gynecology.
