APGO Board of Directors Nomination Process
Each year, APGO issues a call for volunteers to fill open positions on the APGO Board of Directors. In 2020, APGO will recruit three new Board Members who will each serve for a three-year term. APGO is also seeking applications for a new position, Medical Student Board Member, who will serve a one-year term. Please read on to learn about eligibility and selection criteria, board member responsibilities and information on how to apply.
Timeline:
- Call for Applications: June 18
- Applications Due: July 31
- Nominating Committee Meets: Week of August 10
- Slate Finalized: APGO Board of Directors Meeting August 28
- Candidates Notified: Week of August 31
Eligibility and Selection Criteria
Board Members applicants must:
- Be an APGO member in good standing for a period of at least three years consecutively
- Have a record of active participation and interest in APGO activities and objectives
- Attend and participate in all scheduled meetings
- Understand and honor the Association’s overall core values, goals and objectives
- Communicate effectively
- Complete assigned tasks/projects in a timely manner
Medical Student Board Member applicants must:
- Be a medical student at the time of application/selection
- Include a letter of recommendation from their ob-gyn clerkship director in addition to other required application materials
- Understand and honor the Association’s overall core values, goals and objectives
- Communicate effectively
- Complete assigned tasks/projects in a timely manner
President-Elect applicants must:
- Be an APGO member in good standing for a period of at least six years consecutively
- Have a record of past leadership positions within APGO and other ob-gyn specialty organizations
- Demonstrate participation and interest in APGO activities and objectives
- Attend and participate in all scheduled meetings
- Understand and honor the Association’s overall core values, goals and objectives
- Communicate effectively
- Complete assigned tasks/projects in a timely manner
Secretary/Treasurer-Elect applicants must:
- Be an APGO member in good standing for a period of at least five years consecutively
- Have a record of past leadership positions within APGO and other ob-gyn specialty organizations
- Demonstrate participation and interest in APGO activities and objectives
- Attend and participate in all scheduled meetings
- Understand and honor the Association’s overall core values, goals and objectives
- Communicate effectively
- Complete assigned tasks/projects in a timely manner
