Objective: In January of 2022, UMSLE Step 1 changed from a 3 digit score to a Pass/Fail score. This singular change has important ramifications for a medical school and for its students. How should a student be advised regarding career planning? How many electives should a student participate? How can a student distinguish themselves from other students? Should the school change its dashboard for measuring student achievement and success? What parameters are Program Directors going to use when they choose students for interviews? These are just some of the few questions that have arisen as a result of this change. Participants will explore answers to these questions and develop a consensus. Attendees will also learn about The NEXT STEP1 Project and its mission regarding these issues. They will also be given an opportunity to participate.
