Managing the lava flow: using a faculty report card for faculty grading development

Student grades are just like lava flowing all over the place. One way to

contain the flow is to limit the variation in student assessment per individual faculty. This round

table discussion will enlighten participants on the use of a “faculty report card” tool to grade

individual faculty on their student assessments and how they compare with other faculty. We

will discuss how to use this tool to give objective feedback and facilitate faculty development by

minimizing variation in student assessment. This tool will empower your faculty become more

objective and develop increased consistency with student assessment.
