UPCOMING VOLUNTEER LEADERSHIP APPLICATION DEADLINES 
Development Committee (Deadline Extended!)
The APGO Development Committee was established in 2007 to make recommendations to the APGO Board of Directors on programs and projects supported by the APGO Development Fund. The Development Committee also provides grants for new project initiatives and spearheads fundraising initiatives of the organization. To this end, familiarity with current APGO programs and projects as well as extensive experience in fundraising, implementation of fundraising strategies and department funding management are essential to participation.

Undergraduate Medical Education Committee (UMEC) Applications
Established in 1965, this 12-member committee addresses medical student education and faculty development issues in a changing health care environment. UMEC is an exceptionally satisfying committee to work with because of the tremendous output of the members and the committee as a whole. UMEC produces teaching tools, organizes faculty development programs and promotes innovative teaching methods for continued excellence in undergraduate medical education known throughout the United States and Canada.

APGO is seeking applicants for five positions on the APGO Board of Directors, including President-Elect, Secretary/Treasurer-Elect and three Board members.

GRANT OPPORTUNITIES
APGO Grant for International Educators to Attend the 2020 Faculty Development Seminar
As part of APGO’s commitment to actively engage international ob-gyn educators, this grant was developed to enable international educators to participate in the APGO Martin L. Stone, MD, Faculty Development Seminar (FDS). The 2020 APGO Faculty Development Seminar will be held January 11-14, at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point in Bonita Springs, FL.

APGO Medical Education Endowment Fund Grant Program
Submit a proposal for the 2019 APGO Medical Education Endowment Fund Grant Program. Up to two projects will be eligible for funding of $15,000 – $30,000, depending on the scope of the project and the number of grants awarded. This year’s project goal is to promote and document feasibility of multi-institutional educational research and scholarship in in the of the following areas: Curriculum Innovation and Cultivation of a Positive Learning Environment.

APGO ADDS NEW EDUCATIONAL VIDEOS
Objective #56: Sexuality and Modes of Sexual Expression
APGO has added two new videos to the Medical Student Educational Objectives library: Counseling Patients about Sexuality and Assessment and Treatment for Female Sexual Dysfunction. These videos are designed to help teach how to start, continue and follow up on conversations about sexual health and sexual health history. The project, developed by APGO faculty, was supported in part by an unrestricted educational grant by APGO Corporate Liaison Council member, AMAG Pharmaceuticals.

SPOTLIGHT ON THE APGO CORPORATE LIAISON COUNCIL
APGO’s dedication to promoting excellence in women’s health care is exceptional. Year after year, APGO has provided outstanding support to health educators. This is exemplified by the accredited CME module on Nausea and Vomiting of Pregnancy, developed by APGO through an unrestricted educational grant provided by Duchesnay. As long-term corporate partners, we are very proud that this CME resource is currently available free of charge to APGO members and non-members alike. Congratulations on the WellMom App, an outstanding tool to educate pregnant women and health care providers about the causes of NVP.

APGO and Duchesnay are mutually committed to the health and wellbeing of mothers and babies, and we look forward to our continued collaboration.


UPDATED SELF-ASSESSMENT QUESTIONS INTEGRATED INTO PREPFORRES AND UWISE
Undergraduate Web-Based Interactive Self-Evaluation (uWISE)
Test bank questions for uWISE, an approximately 600-question interactive self-exam designed to help medical students acquire the necessary basic knowledge in obstetrics and gynecology, regardless of future medical specialty choice, were updated April 1. This resource is available to institutions with a subscription, and individual student subscriptions may also be purchased.
APGO updates 50% of the test bank questions annually; the latest update was April 1. Learn more.

Preparation for Residency Knowledge Assessment Tool (PrepforRes)
PrepforRes, an interactive, web-based examination that measures the didactic knowledge of incoming ob-gyn interns based on the ACGME level 1 Milestones, was updated to include new questions April 15. Institutions also use this tool for their boot camp/residency preparation. The exam is available to medical schools and residency programs through an annual subscription to the APGO uWISE program. This exam is available as a stand-alone subscription for schools who do not already subscribe to APGO uWISE.
