2019 CREOG & APGO ANNUAL MEETING
RECAP
The Council on Resident Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology (CREOG) and the Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics (APGO) welcomed more than 1,200 obstetrics and gynecology educators and administrators February 27 – March 2 in New Orleans, Louisiana for the 2019 CREOG & APGO Annual Meeting. This year, the theme was, “Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler Let the Good Times Roll: Unmask Your Potential in Medical Education.” The program, helmed by Co-Chairs Maria Manriquez, MD, and Lori Berkowitz, MD, offered attendees new perspectives and fresh tips on health equity, the UME – GME Transition, patient safety, well being and more.

The APGO Academic Scholars and Leaders Program (ASL) is now accepting applications for the newest class of scholars. Become one of the more than 400 APGO members who have completed the ASL Program.

ASL is targeted to the needs of aspiring and current education program directors (clerkship, residency, fellowship) and core faculty educators who are committed to expanding and deepening the impact of their contributions.

On the heels of a fantastic APGO Alumni Bash at Vintage Rock Club in New Orleans, the APGO Alumni Society is preparing to elect its officers and to begin to identify its future activities. Alumni Society Members should watch their inbox in the coming weeks for leadership job descriptions and information on how to apply, as well as for a survey to identify interests and to begin to shape the future of the Society. APGO looks forward to your feedback.

APGO’s Undergraduate Medical Education Committee (UMEC) welcomed a new member in March. Angela Fleming, DO, of Beaumont Farmington Hills joins the committee as the new representative of the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Please join APGO in welcoming Doctor Fleming!
