Don’t Just Go Through The Motions, Turn Your Passion Into Promotion

Objective: Promotion may seem like a burden imposed on academicians, but it can be a conduit for focusing your energy, realizing your professional goals, and gaining the influence and positions that will allow you to achieve what is truly meaningful to you.  Spending time and energy on what we deem valuable guards against burnout, and we will discuss how this can coincide with professional advancement. This workshop will break down the sometimes overwhelming promotion process.. Additionally, because traditional research roles are not the only way to achieve promotion, we will examine an updated and inclusive definition of scholarship, giving participants varied avenues for being productive while pursuing their passion.
