Using an Online Module to Teach Counseling on Termination of Pregnancy in A Catholic Institution
2012 ASL Abstract
Objective: To develop, administer, and evaluate an online module for residents in a faith-based obstetrics and gynecology program on proper counseling of patients considering pregnancy termination.
Study Design: A prospective study evaluated residents prior to and after the administration of an online module, focused on counseling material. Individual pre and post test results were compared, as well as resident class cohorts. Comfort regarding counseling on termination was also evaluated before and after the module. Paired data will be compared using Wilcoxon signed-rank test, while resident groups will be compared with Kruskal Wallis ANOVA. 16 residents have completed the pretest and administration of the module is in progress.
Results: TBD
Conclusions: We anticipate that this online module will improve resident knowledge and comfort regarding counseling patients considering pregnancy termination.
