Objective: The 2022 NRMP match cycle was particularly competitive for students applying to OBGYN. 99.7% of PGY1 positions were filled. Among US students who ranked OBGYN as their only specialty choice, 13.1% of MD and 28.4% of DO students went unmatched. The percent of US MD seniors who match into OBGYN has remained stable at 6% since 2018. Strategies are necessary to support these students in their efforts to determine next steps.
