Objective: The OBGYN residency application process has been increasingly complex and competitive in the NRMP and many students need and want robust advising to guide them through the process. First generation students and underrepresented minority students in medicine may be less likely to use networking or have mentors. In addition, varied institutions have different resources. One way to ensure equity is to do advising as a group to ensure that all students have access to a variety of advisors and receive all the same information. In this session, we will discuss the components of a successful group advising series, review resources needed to do group advising for MS4 students, and include an interactive discussion on case presentations of students. We will also discuss student specific resources to help create a competitive application. The toolkit will provide resources that can be shared amongst programs for advising, including a timeline, topics, and on-line resources.
